Interview

My way into the Orthozentrum Freiburg

"The journey is the destination": For me as an enthusiastic cyclist, being on the road is just as important as arriving. This wisdom is emblematic of my career. Besides scientific work, patient care has always been my focus. Since becoming a father myself, pediatric orthopedics has been a focus of my work. This small, but fine additional designation covers the treatment of infants, children and adolescents. In the majority of cases, a wait-and-see or conservative therapy leads to the desired success in children. If, however, surgical treatment is necessary, I can use minimally invasive techniques to guide the growth of knock knees or bow legs, for example, or straighten flat feet with little effort. I am also happy to be your first point of contact for acute injuries to your children.

Older patients may also feel in good hands with me. After a decade as section head of the osteology and osteoporosis consultation at Freiburg University Hospital, I continue to treat this "widespread disease" with great dedication, always based on current scientific findings and guidelines. In addition to diagnostics, the therapy of osteoporosis is also a welcome challenge for me as an osteoporosis specialist.

In addition, I offer patients plagued by back pain a modern treatment concept to restore their mobility and relieve pain. Here, ultrasound and X-ray assisted infiltration techniques of the spine and sacroiliac joint (ISG) can help.

I look forward to offering my specialties at Orthozentrum Freiburg and treating people from young to old.
